How you learn
The planned format is three five-hour live online sessions and two seven-hour studio days in Midleton, including practical assessment within those days. This is 29 scheduled clock hours, alongside online theory and an agreed learner support plan.
The qualification has 48 guided learning hours and 120 hours of total qualification time. The scheduled sessions alone are not the full guided-learning requirement. Before enrolment, we will confirm your complete guided-learning, support and assessment plan in writing. Independent study is not automatically counted as guided learning.
How you are assessed
You build a portfolio through written assignments, session planning, assessed microteaching and reflection. Microteaching involves at least one hour in total, with at least 15 minutes personally delivered and assessed; the remaining time may be further delivery or peer observation. Your assessor confirms the evidence required for your individual plan.
Certification follows successful assessment and the required quality assurance. Watching lessons or completing online activities alone does not prove assessed competence.
Your 30 hours of academy experience
Observe teaching, help with preparation and assist under supervision in existing academy classes, normally on Mondays or Tuesdays by arrangement. We agree the timetable and supervision scope with you before enrolment.
These are academy experience hours, rather than 30 extra hours of individual tuition. They do not guarantee paid work or authorise independent teaching or assessment.

Are the dates confirmed?
Group dates remain unconfirmed for 2027. Private dates depend on your availability and the academy timetable. We will confirm a complete learning plan and dates before enrolment.
Is this the €995 online ABT course?
These two offers lead to the VTCT Skills Level 3 Award in Education and Training, subject to successful completion. The €995 AuraLuxe ABT-accredited online teacher-training course remains a separate option.
Will my own course become accredited?
This qualification develops your teaching skills. It does not automatically accredit courses you design or approve insurance for them.
