Cancellation & Refund Information

What happens if plans change — for studio appointments, Academy enrolments and online course content.

How to cancel or change something

Email alexis@auraluxe.ie as early as you can, with your name and the appointment or course involved. We confirm every cancellation or change in writing, so if you have not had a reply from us, please assume it is not yet actioned.

Studio appointments

A request sent through this site is not a confirmed appointment, so there is nothing to cancel until we confirm it. Once confirmed, please give us as much notice as you can so the time can be offered to someone else.

Where a deposit was taken, how that deposit is treated on a cancellation or a change of date is set out in the booking terms shown to you when you paid. We have not published a fixed notice period or cancellation fee on this page, because those terms are confirmed per booking rather than assumed here.

Academy courses — practical and blended

Interest List entries and enquiries carry no payment and can be withdrawn at any time by emailing us — there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.

For a confirmed enrolment, the deposit and balance terms shown to you at enrolment apply, including whether a deposit can be transferred to a later date. Where an external awarding body has already registered you or charged a fee, that fee may not be recoverable. We will always tell you the actual position rather than a general rule.

If we cancel or move a course date, you can choose the next available date or a refund of what you have paid to us for that course.

Three different kinds of payment — and what each means

Payments on this site do three different things, and they are not treated the same way. We never label a payment non-refundable simply because it is called a deposit or a first payment.

A. Studio treatment booking deposit. This reserves your appointment time. No digital content is supplied and no cancellation waiver applies. How the deposit is treated on a cancellation, a change of date or a no-show is governed by the booking terms disclosed to you when you paid, together with your statutory rights. There is no blanket non-refundable rule. Where an appointment is booked remotely, we do not assume that beauty appointments definitely fall within the leisure-activity exemption from distance-selling cancellation rights; that point is flagged for confirmation by our solicitor and we will not rely on it against you in the meantime.

B. Fully online course. This is paid digital content. Before payment you are asked to tick a box that is never pre-ticked, giving your express consent to supply and access beginning during the 14-day cancellation period and acknowledging that the statutory cancellation right is lost in respect of that content once supply has begun. Checkout cannot start without it, and we confirm the consent back to you in writing afterwards. If access has not yet been given, the 14-day right still applies and we refund you in full. This never affects your remedies if content is faulty, not as described, or not supplied.

C. Blended, group or one-to-one Academy course. Your first payment does two things: it secures your place, and your course theory is issued to you following enrolment confirmation, which is inside the 14-day cancellation period. Because of that, the same express consent and acknowledgement is taken before payment on these routes too — but it applies to the digital theory element only. It does not extinguish your cancellation and refund rights for the practical, in-studio element that has not yet been delivered. If you cancel before your practical training, we will set out fairly what was actually supplied to you and what that leaves, under the course terms confirmed to you and your statutory rights.

We do not apply a fixed non-refundable amount to the theory element of a blended, group or one-to-one course, because the value of that element has not yet been allocated in our approved course pricing. Until it is, we will not claim that any specific part of your payment is retained.

In every case we record the consent you gave, when you gave it, and which version of these terms applied. If you would prefer to keep the full 14-day cancellation right, do not tick the box — email us and we will hold your theory access until the period has passed.

Refunds and statutory rights

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Stripe. Timing depends on your bank rather than us.

Nothing in this policy limits or removes your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and the General Data Protection Regulation. Where anything here conflicts with those rights, your statutory rights prevail.

Anything unclear, or anything that does not look right on your booking or enrolment — email alexis@auraluxe.ie and we will sort it out.
